Congratulations to the men’s lacrosse team for beating Cornell Univeristy 10-5 in the first round of playoffs. They will move on to the elite 8 this weekend, good luck!

Softball traveled to Easton, PA and played a double header against Lafayette. The first game they lost 4-3, but the second game they defeated Lafayette 9-6, nice work ladies.

Two teams traveled to nationals this past weekend. Maddie Brown placed 8th from the equestrian team out of 36 riders during the medal jumbing phase. Mackenzie Wiedecker places 7 out of 26 in the written test phase. Congratualtions ladies

Golf traveled to nationals in New Jersey and finished in 21st place as a team. Harry Stokes shot back to back rounds of 79 and Ryan Flanigan had his career best of 80.

Baseball played Drexel and lost 9-7.

Weekend Update Wednesday, April 23, 2014

This past weekend Women’s Rugby played a friendly game against University of Maryland Baltimore County. Men’s Rugby traveled as well, they went to West Virginia University. They had a close game and Tim Finnell scored two tries.

Women’s Ice Hockey had an all star game in Hershey,PA and several players won awards.

Weekend Update Wednesday, April 16, 2014

Congratulations to the Women’s Lacrosse team for winning their regionals this past weekend and getting an automatic bid to Nationals! They were the first seed in regionals and played against the second seed University of Virginia winning 9-7. The championship game was against Virginia Tech in which Towson beat them 11-8.

Field Hockey traveled to College Park, losing 4-1. Tennis as well went to College Park in which they played four games against University of Delaware, Princeton University, University of Maryland, and Lehigh University.

Women’s Volleyball traveled to Reno making the silver bracket. They lost in the quarter finals. After Reno, they had four scrimmages at Johns Hopkins.

Weekend Update Wednesday, April 2

Congratulations to Pom Squad for becoming National champions this weekend at Myrtle Beach! Great job ladies!

The equestrian team had regionals this and Mackenzie Wiedecker qualified for zone finals. Women’s lacrosse had a tournament at Virginia Tech this weekend, beating West Chester University 12-5, William and Mary 20-3, and Virginia Tech 10-8. The Women’s lacrosse team is now number one in their conference.

Men’s soccer traveled to James Madison University for a tournament winning two games and losing two games. Tennis also had a tournament, overcoming UMD and UNCG but falling short to UVA and ODU. Field hockey traveled this weekend as well, beating George Washington 3-2 and losing to George Mason 5-1.

Both Women’s and Men’s ultimate frisbee traveled this past weekend as well. The Women’s team traveled to New Jersey and lost the first game with the rest of their games being cancelled. Men’s B team went to JMU and lost to Cornell, Virginia Tech, Georgetown, Roanoke, and UVA but overall had a good time. Men’s Ultimate A had games at College Park this past weekend. Men’s lacrosse traveled to College Park as well, beating Villanova 8-1 and Princeton 9-1.

Women’s Rugby had a game in Frederick Maryland, and Men’s Rugby had a game at the Naval Academy with a conversion by Eric Sweeney and a tri by Vinny Minso.

Weekend Update Wednesday

Over spring break many teams competed in various competitions. Men’s Ultimate B traveled to University of Delaware loosing to both University of Delaware and Lehigh. Men’s basketball traveled for a tournament as well to JMU winning one game and loosing three.

Track and Field club went to Orlando, Florida for a competition. The Men’s team received 4th place overall behind three collegiate varsity teams: Princeton, Wisconsin, and Warner. The Women’s team received 6th place overall behind 5 collegiate varsity teams. Great job track keep up the good work!

Men’s soccer traveled to University of Maryland competing in two league games against UMD yellow and UMD black. They tied the first game 1-1 and won the second game 2-0. Men’s rugby also had a game against Mary Washington University. The A side won 61-14 and the B side won 45-5. Baseball traveled to the University of Delaware for a three game series and fell short in all of their games.

Lastly, Figure Skating had a competition at University of Delaware in which they placed 7th overall and brought home a bronze medal in freestyle and in the dance event.

Weekend Update Wednesday, March 12, 2014

Women’s Lacrosse, Women’s Ultimate, and the Swim club all competed at the University of Delaware this past Weekend. The Women’s Lacrosse team had a successful weekend, beating The University of Delaware 12-8, The University of Maryland 12-7, and shut out West Chester University 8-0. Overall they are now 5-1.

Women’s Ultimate overcame The University of Delaware B team 13-2, Syracuse 10-9, Cornell B team 13-2, as well as The University of Delaware 10-5, and Hofstra 9-6. Falling short to Vermont 11-6 and The University of Delaware Alum 13-5.

Men’s Soccer had a tournament at Stoney Brook, Team A went 2-1-2 and received 2nd place. Team B, went 4-1 and received 3rd place. An overall successful tournament for both teams.

Equestrian hosted a home competition at Feather Downs and now two of their teammates qualify for regionals. Figure Skating also participated in a competition this weekend At Liberty University.

Pom Squad supported the Men’s Basketball Team this weekend at the Baltimore Arena!

Water Polo traveled to College Park for a tournament in which they played Binghamton, Villanova A team, and Wetskins A, and B team!

Weekend Update Wednesday, March 5th, 2014

The men’s club lacrosse team traveled this past weekend to Rutgers University (No. 5) and hosted a home game. They had an exciting win of Rutgers 12-4. As well as beating University of Delaware (No.12) 11-7. The tigers are now 4-0.

Men’s Rugby traveled to Demarco Park for three games. They played Pax River and beat them 14-7 with trys by Schaberth and Jason Lerie. They also beat Roses RFC 17-12 with two tries from Tim Finnell, one try from Greg D. and kicks by Eric. The tigers lost 9-7 to Quantico RFC in over time and lost 20-7 to North Bary RFC with a try by Tim Shields.

Weekend Update Wednesday, February 26, 2014

Getting further into the semester, multiple clubs traveled this weekend. Women’s baskebtall had a tournament at Princeton, losing by 6 points to both Drexel and TCNJ. Along with the basketball team, dodgeball had a tournament as well at James Madison University. At the tournament they played Miami (Ohio) and beat them for the first time ever.

Men’s and Women’s Ultimate both traveled to Charleston, SC for tournaments. On Saturday the Men’s team went 4-0 including a win against Clemson. Unfortunately, on Sunday the team lost to Charleston in the quarter finals. On the other hand, the Women’s Ultimate team beat Charleston (12-9), University of Florida B team (11-6), and Appalachian State (13-9). But they fell short playing Appalachian State a second time losing (10-11), and USC twice (13-8, 13-9).

Women’s lacrosse traveled to University of Maryland for their first game, suffering a loss of 13-7. Equestrian also traveled to UMD where two of their riders qualified for regionals: Mackenzie Wiedecker and Moriyah Caines.

Men’s lacrosse had a successful start to their season beating Morgan State 13-3 and Penn College of Tech 7-1.

The men’s ice hockey team finished their season this past weekend beating Lehigh 6-3 and losing to Drexel 4-0.

Women’s Ice Hockey Wednesday

Women’s Ice Hockey began their first season ever during the 2013-2014 school year. Having an overall regular season record of 7-4 enabling them to make it to DVCHC tournament.

The first round of the Delaware Valley Collegiate Hockey Conference the tigers played the University of Maryland who they had already played twice times in their regular season and went 1-1. At the start of the third period, the University of Maryland was winning 1-0. After a shut out in the first and second period Towson finally saw the back of the net. This eventually leading to three more goals, beating the University of Maryland 4-1, and advancing to the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals Towson played the number 1 seed Navy. Towson and Navy had previously played each other two times during the regular season and went 1-1. In the semi-finals goals were scored by Nicole Melchione, Sarah Rose, Emily Potere, and Kaila Frazier allowing the tigers to beat Navy 4-2, making it to the DVCHC Championship.

In the final round of the DVCHC Championship Towson played against Slippery Rock. This was huge for the Tigers to make it this far in their conference being it was only their first season ever. The tigers played an awesome game beating Slippery Rock 11-3. There was 7 different goal scorers throughout the game. Brooke Edwards had a hat trick, Kaila Frazier and Brynja Bogan each had two goals, and Beth Kennedy, Monique Burgers, Nicole Melchione, and Emily Potere each contributed 1 goal. Lauren Wood had more than 30 saves against Slippery Rock. The team did excellent and earned the title of the DVCHC Champions!

Weekend Update Wednesday, February 12, 2014

Still early in the semester, both Women’s and Men’s Ice Hockey were the only clubs with games this past weekend. Women’s Ice Hockey played UVA on Saturday and Sunday, beating them twice 9-1, and 10-3. This places them 4th in the league for playoffs. The Men’s Ice Hockey team fell short to both University of Maryland and Penn State University. Some goal scorer from this past weekend are Matt McGuire, Kevin Carter, Andrew Firedman, and Mike Cifelli
