Hammertime Featured in Ultiworld!

The Towson Women’s Ultimate Frisbee team – aka Hammertime – placed second this past weekend in the Delaware Classic! Twelve D-1 Women’s College teams, ranging from the Metro-East, Ohio Valley, and Atlantic Coast regions, met in Newark, Delaware for a sunny weekend of competetive Ultimate Frisbee. Towson Hammertime was a top seeded team in the tournament and took the first day of games against Hofstra, Boston University, Delaware B, and Rutgers in stride. Onto Sunday, Towson took on SUNY-Oneonta and was able to easily bring down the majority of 50/50 throws – gaining another win. The championship game against NYU did not end favorably for Hammertime, ending with a 12-10 loss. Despite the hard loss, Towson captain and acting coach Katie Grant, was interviewed by the representative from Ultiworld and had some words of encouragement. Grant viewed the Delaware Classic as an opportunity for Hammertime to expose new, younger handlers to various levels of competition before heading to Southerns down in Statesboro, Georgia in a few weeks. Despite loosing six top players since last spring, Hammertime performed well and showed pure athleticism throughout the tournament.
