Starting up the Spring 2014 semester a few clubs traveled this weekend. Women’s Ice Hockey beat Navy 4-3. Men’s Ice Hockey also playing Navy this past weekend had a tough loss, but pulled together for their game against Lehigh beating them 7-3.

The Pom Squad competed this past Saturday and Sunday winning their compeition in which they received a plaque, banner, and jackets.

Great job to the teams that traveled this weekend!

Northeastern Regional Flag Football Co-ed champions

Flag Footballs Co-ed team won Regionals for the second year in a row. This is also the second year of the co-eds team of existence. They traveled to the University of Maryland November 15-17th. Their first few games were regular season games; they went 1-3 in the regular season games losing to Richard Stockton.

Making it to the playoffs with a first round bye, overcoming University of Maryland in the semi-finals making it to the final round. In the championship game the flag football team was up against Stockton once again this tournament, and beat them at last 33-6, becoming the 2013 Northeaster Regional Co-ed Flag Football Champions.

Weekend Update Wednesday, December 4th, 2013

Prior to Thanksgiving break, the track team traveled to Hershey Park, PA to compete in nationals. Along with the track team, Men’s Rugby traveled to Harrisburg, VA for nationals. They won their first match vs. UNCW but fell short and lost their second game.

Men’s Ice hockey hosted Scranton University at Ice World and defeated them 4-2.

Rock Climbing Club traveled to Loyola University for a climbing competition and had two of their climbers place in finals.

Weekend Update Wednesday, November 20, 2013

Figure Skating traveled to Cornell University for an Intercollegiate Competition. They received 6th place overall out of 20 teams, bringing home four individual medals in four different events.

Coming close to the end of the semester many teams have been traveling and competing in Regional and National tournaments. Flag Footballs Regional’s were hosted at the University of Maryland this past weekend. The co-ed team won the championship game for the second time. Along with Flag Football, Andrew Wiley traveled to Myrtle Beach, SC representing the Men’s Golf team at Nationals. He had a two round total of 158 (+1) and placed in the top 50 out of 200 golfers.

Men’s Ice Hockey crushed Scranton University 14-2, with 4 goals from Kevin Carter and Mathew McGuire. David Shields and Billy Stafford scored their first career goals. Women’s Ice Hockey hosted Liberty University at home and won 6-2. They are now 4th place in the DVCHC!

Equestrian traveled to Goucher College this past weekend where Morgan Thrush and Moriya Caines stole the show, receiving two of the highest places on the team.

Women’s Ultimate traveled to Philadeplia, PA for a tournament in which they started as the 14th seed and won their way to the 5th seed by the end of the tournament. They defeated American 12-9, Georgetown 13-5, Messiah 12-7, and UPenn Y 11-7. Unfortunately, they suffered two tough losses against Rochester, and Columbia.

Women’s Volleyball hosted their annual tournament in Burdick Gym 1 this past weekend. They came in 1st place overall!

Weekend Update Wednesday, November 13, 2013

Women’s Basketball had nationals this past weekend at University of Maryland. On the first day they played two games, losing their first game, and winning their second game against High Point, the 2nd seed of the tournament. This allowed them to proceed to Day 2. Unfortunately, on day 2 they lost their first game, eliminating them from the remainder of the nationals.

Flag Football traveled to Wilmington, North Carolina for a tournament this past weekend. Team 1 won both their preliminary games and made it into playoffs with a bi the first game. Team 2 went 1-1, making the playoffs as well, but losing in the first round.

Men’s Ultimate Frisbee traveled to Mercer, New Jersey for a tournament, Team A and Team B both went 3-3.

Women’s Ice Hockey won their first two games ever! Beating UMD 15-3 and Villanova 11-5! Men’s Ice Hockey also had a game this past weekend winning 7-4, Andrew Friedman contributed a goal and Niko Vonakis scored 4 goals.

Weekend Update Wednesday: November 6, 2013

Men’s Ultimate traveled to Virigina for a tournament this weekend, defeating Millersville, High Point, and Longwood. But falling short to Old Dominion and Woodside. Women’s Volleyball traveled to UMBC for a tournament as well, ending the weekend with an overall record of 3-3.

Tennis traveled to Loyola for a dual match. Men’s Ice Hockey played Penn State Berks this weekend resulting in a 1-1 series. Women’s Ice Hockey hosted a home game against Slippery Rock, and lost by two goals.

Equestrian competed in IHSA competition and Haleigh held the highest placement on the team, 3rd place. Men’s rugby lost to Salisbury 32-19.

Weekend Update Wednesday October 30, 2013

Traveling to North Carolina the Men’s and Women’s lacrosse team traveled to East Carolina University for a tournament. The Men’s team had an overall record of 4-2 earning runner up of the tournament. The Women’s team beat Appalachian State University 15-2 and had two tough loses against UVA and JMU. Here are some photos from the Men’s games:

Also, this past weekend surf took there annual trip to Avon, North Carolina. The waves were great and their new members learned how to surf.

Equestrian had a show at Goucher College and everyone who competed received 4th place or higher in the competition.

Women’s Ultimate traveled to the University of Delaware for a tournament, beating UDEL X team and Y team and putting up a tough fight against University of Maryland and Hofstra. The tennis team had a tournament as well at Mary Washington overcoming Virginia Commonwealth and Virginia Tech B team, and loosing to Mary Washington A team, Loyola, and Richmond.

Men’s Rugby A side suffered a tough loss against Salisbury, on the other hand their B side beat Salisbury’s B side. Field Hockey shut out Loyola this past weekend at their game.

Men’s Hockey swept Villanova in a home and home series.

Weekend Update Wednesday, October 22, 2013

Softball had a double header this past Sunday coming out with a 1-1 record. Women’s soccer played as well this past weekend defeating JHU 2-1. Also, the swim team had a meet, and Jack Nally received two personal best times.

Field Hockey shut out Washington College wininng 8-0. Along with Field Hockey, the Women’s Ice Hockey teamtraveled over the weekend and unfortunately lost to Navy 12-8.

Women’s lacrosse traveled to University of Maryland for a tournament, Defeating UMDs Red team 21-6, Duke 16-11, and West Virginia University 18-10, but falling short to UMD’s black team by 5 goals.

Lastly, skydiving had a successful weekend at Skydive Delmarva.

Weekend Update Wednesday, October 16th.

Women’s Ice Hockey had there first ever scrimmage against the York Lady Devils and won 5-3. The Men’s Ice Hockey team also traveled this weekend with an overall record of 1-2 Defeating John Caroll 3-2, and losing to Buffalo by two goals and Davenport by four.

Women’s and Men’s Track Club both competed in a competition with the Women coming in 2nd place overall and Men coming in 3rd.

Men’s Soccer had an upset against Loyola tying 3-3.  Women’s Field Hockey traveled to George Mason University losing by only one goal.

Weekend Update Wednesday

Here are some updates from this past weekends events:

Women’s soccer hosted a tournament on Burdick field. They defeated Frostburg 6-0 and played a difficult game against Salisbury, losing 4-1. Men’s lacrosse also compete in tournament in Virginia. They shut out UVA 7-0 along with beating UMD 9-3. Unfortunately they suffered a tough loss against Penn State.

Baseball went to went to PGCC for two scrimmages, losing their first scrimmage 8-6 and tying the second. Women’s lacrosse had their first fall ball game vs. Loyola and lost by only 2 goals.

Tennis, Women’s basketball and women’s ultimate all traveled to tournaments this past weekend. Tennis defeated Georgetown and Mary Washington, but lost to JMU, Virginia Tech, and their second game vs. Mary Washington. Women’s basketball beat Lehigh by 4 points but lost to St. Joes and Villanova by 10 points.

Overall, all teams played well!
